Chad Burkhardt is a Managing Director at CenterSquare Investment Management. Chad serves as the Head of Strategic Capital, CenterSquare’s opportunistic business investing in real estate platforms and operating companies. Since joining the Firm in 2013, he has held multiple roles and is currently a member of the Private Real Estate, Strategic Capital, and Essential Service Retail Investment Committees. Prior to joining CenterSquare, he led acquisitions for a New York-based single family office, investing in distressed real estate in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. He also worked at D. E. Shaw & Co., a multi-strategy hedge fund, where he oversaw commercial real estate acquisitions and was responsible for real estate credit, including the purchase of senior and subordinate debt positions, CMBS and REIT securities. Chad began his career at Merrill Lynch & Co. in Global Principal Investments, which invested balance sheet in commercial real estate debt and equity in the Americas. Mr. Burkhardt graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Hotel Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Management.
